Our Story
Casa de Capulet is an eight-room boutique stay in Labuan Bajo, built by people who share a long-standing connection to Indonesia and a genuine love for this part of it.
The heart of the story begins with Charlie and Yasinta. They are from Flores. After nearly two decades in Bali working across tourism, tours, villas, and hospitality, returning home to build something in Labuan Bajo was always part of the plan. It just needed the right moment and the right people around it.
That moment came through relationships built over years. Rob first met Charlie in Bali more than ten years ago. From there, the wider group grew through shared projects, friendships, and repeated visits to Labuan Bajo that confirmed this was exactly where we wanted to be.
When the right property became available, everything came together. The building was fully renovated before opening, and Casa de Capulet welcomed its first guests in July 2025.
The People Behind It
Charlie runs Casa de Capulet day to day. He grew up in Flores, spent nearly twenty years building a career in Bali’s tourism industry, and came back to do something that felt genuinely his own. As a tour guide by trade and a natural host by instinct, he knows this island and its surrounding waters the way most people know their own neighbourhood.
Yasinta brings the same warmth and care to everything behind the scenes. Together, they set the tone for the whole property and it shows. Guests notice it immediately.
The Mural
On the outside wall of Casa de Capulet, there’s a mural you’ll want to photograph.
It was painted by local artists and designed as a love letter to Labuan Bajo and Flores — a vintage postcard reimagined at scale. Each letter of “Labuan Bajo” contains a different scene from the region: the mountains, the sea, the dragons, the boats, the divers, the coast.
It is the kind of thing that stops people on the street. Guests pose in front of it. Locals claim it. That was always the intention; not just decoration for the hotel, but something that belongs to Labuan Bajo.
